We loved staying with Retro Rents. We stayed at Alice and loved it. The place is updated with modern appliances (big fridge for a trailer), modern AC/Heat unit, and comfortable mattress. Hosts go out of their way to make it as comfortable as possible and they do a better job than many big chain hotels. We'll definitely stay with Retro Rents again when visiting Big Bend/Terlingua. PS: Sunrises and sunsets are great in the area, and the dark sky is great for stargazing and astrophotography and there's even nice birds around.
I can't say enough good things about Retro Rents Airstreams and Sam and Dani. They made me feel right at home and SO welcome during my stay in Josephine (the FIRST Airstream). I can't wait to go back and I know where I'll be staying. They feed the birds, squirrels and bunnies and that made for a great place to relax and photograph, especially since I was in town for birding Big Bend National Park.
Sam and Dani have curated such a fun, comfy spot to stay in Terlingua! We stayed there for a work trip and they were able to accommodate our large 12 person group. The airstreams are well equipped and so comfy and welcoming. The beds were really comfortable and there are extra bedding and towels which is always helpful. Can’t wait to come back and stay again!
We had a fantastic stay and throughly enjoyed our time in Alice. The positioning was perfect to lay in bed and enjoy the sunrise over the mountains of Big Bend. Retro Rents is well maintained and the owners are a gem. They were friendly, helpful in offering suggestions of stuff to do around the Ghost Town as well as the surrounding areas. It was a cozy stay and we can't wait to get back again to visit.
Very nice people, great to work with. Stayed in Savannah for 3 nights with no issues. Easy walk (less than a 1/4 mile) to 3 local eating establishments, all excellent food. Easy access to Big Bend National Park to hit the trails early and beat the crowds. Highly recommend and would stay there again.
We've only been here for 1 day out of 5, but it's great here so far. We are staying in Josephine, and for how old she is, she's still in good shape. Tall guys beware of low bridges in these old RVs, but that should be a given in almost any RV. Great location to the Cottonwood General Store, Big Bend park, and the local offerings of Terlingua. The hosts are also super accommodating for anything you need. They are also as thorough as possible for covid precautions as well. Sanitizing all surfaces, dishes/utensils, and allowing ample time between guests.
Fantastic stay and I personally wouldn't stay anywhere else when in Terlingua. Keep your money with the locals and stay at Retro Rents! Right in "town" and walkable to bars and restaurants or stay at home and enjoy the sunset, stars and your comfy home. Everything was just as described/pictured and was comfortable even for someone that's never spent a night in a trailer! AC, full plumbing, comfortable bed and wifi, what more could you need? Lovely people, lovely area and lovely Betty. I just feel lucky to have stayed and met some wonderful people while there. Thanks Sam & Dani!
